Guide and Virtual Tour of Channel Islands: St Brelades Bay from Bouilly Point.
Panorama | Review | Map
St Brelades's Bay from Bouilly Point This is the view looking over from the eastern edge of Quaisne Bay to St Brelade's.
Quaisne Bay is bit more windswept than St Brelade's and trickier to find if you're driving but it is only a short walk along the beach and over the headland from one to the other. There is a huge car park and a tiny little cafe at this sandy beach, but its best feature has got to be the Smuggler's Inn pub. A proper pub with great beer and an extensive menu.
St Brelade's is a beautiful, fairly large beach, with fine, pale, flat sand. Popular with the body-boarders and some surfing. You can hire canoes and sunloungers here. The beach is patrolled by the life guard all day. There are two or three large hotels here and some cafes on the waterfront. We liked the Wayside Cafe - great food in a relaxed setting, popular with families. There is also a lovely little restaurant, 'Zanzibar' fantastic food, a great wine list and highly efficient, friendly service. We stayed at L'Horizon Hotel here - a beautiful hotel, with great facilities in a fabulous location, but the service left a bit to be desired. Seriously overpriced.
